The Surprisal is a podcast hosted by Burak Yenigun.
The name comes from information theory: surprisal measures how unlikely a message is, given what we expect. A cliché tells us little we didn’t already know.

Burak has more than 15 years of experience in financial markets and a track record of more than 10 years in public markets and systematic investing.
He began his career at JPMorgan’s London office, where he worked throughout the 2008 crisis on Synthetic-CDO2 risk and pricing. He went on to spend two years in Oliver Wyman’s Financial Services practice before launching Stylus Capital. He is a graduate of Bogazici University in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
